Dr. M.R.C. Greenwood, former chancellor of UC Santa Cruz and current professor of nutrition and internal medicine, was recently named as director of the UC Davis Foods for Health Initiative (FFHI). The FFHI brings together more than 90 faculty members with diverse expertise in human and animal medicine; food, environmental and agricultural sciences; and engineering to develop a comprehensive program that considers all aspects of food from the farm to the table to the health of the individual. First proposed four years ago, FFHI works to solve big problems, such as malnutrition, by turning promising nutritional solutions into realities.
